The Estonian Minister for Information Technology and Entrepreneurship Rene Tammist met with the French State Secretary for Digital Affairs Mounir Mahjoub in Paris to coordinate specific steps for digital cooperation between the countries. “I believe that the the MoU signed between the Digital Ministers of Estonia and France last spring will create new opportunities for Estonian companies only in case the partnership actually comes to fruition. “We agreed with Secretary Mahjoubi to appoint specific contact people to move forward with the agreement. This is a major advancement from mere words to actions,” stressed Tammist. “We wish to foster mentorship, hold joint events and share the technical solutions of national information systems between us, while also coordinating our positions on EU digital policies,” explained Tammist. Estonia and France signed an official digital partnership memorandum last spring to improve cooperation between the Estonian and French governments in the fields of e-governance and digital societies.
